About Richard Brooks
Richard Brooks is the owner and CEO of UK based Language Service Provider K International. He holds an MBA from Cranfield University and is a Director of the Association of Language Companies. Richard has completed and contributed to numerous educational programmes in Europe, USA and Asia and co-written several publications on topics of interest.
His academic interests lie around entrepreneurism and international leadership development. His dream and that of his company is to create a world without language barriers. They do this by providing a secure translation service to the UK Government and assisting many international businesses with a dynamic methodology of managing their language assets.
Richard is an experienced professional in the translation industry, much respected for his business insight and acumen, and as such has become a renowned and popular international conference and event speaker – his open, passionate and honest style, combined with his dry and entertaining sense of humour keeps his audiences thoroughly engaged in his chosen topic.
He has many recommendations from his clients who consider him to be not only a truly professional and inspirational business leader but a person who is as equally at home and interesting in the boardroom as he is in the coffee-break room.
Aside from his fascination for language and translation Richard has many diverse interests, ranging from astronomy, science and photography to travel and sport – he is considered, by his associates, to be ‘a darn good golfer’.

We recently developed a solution for a very large European retailer to help them to localise/translate all of their packaging for their dynamic range of clothing. The challenge in this space is to provide translation that is ‘on trend’, error free and makes best use of all the previously translated material, which helps to dramatically […]

Golf is a terrific sport and great way to meet interesting people. To help you get out there and start playing I’ve prepared a quick A to Z of some of the language you’ll hear on the course.
I just returned from the ALC2010 conference in Miami where I presented about developing a sustainable corporate strategy. I had pretty good feedback about the presentation so thought I would use blog.k-international.com to expand on a couple of points.
