I am deaf and need a hand held device that will convert spoken language to text. My hearing aides are no longer of benefit and I am still wanting to lead an active life in my community.

Can anyone help. There must be many other deaf people who would have a better quality of life if we were able to communicate again. Your speech would appear on my hand held screen similiar to tele text on the TV.

I run a podcast in Spanish called don Gerardo de Suecia (don Gerardo from Sweden). I´ve tried to put Swedish and English translations too and now I´m beginning to add German.
I use the translation tool on Google. But it´s not possible to leave it like that. I also read the German translation and make corrections when it´s necessary.
My experience is that this translation tool is excellent if you know the language but it´s impossible to use it as it is.
