Caroline Lasnier / Language Centre Manager
Passionate about languages from an early age, she is fascinated by idioms and their origins. This translated into a University Degree in France (applied linguistics & interpreting) and several stays in the UK and Spain.
Caroline came to K International as a student and then went on to become an in-house translator, working on extensive Government translations as well as commercial projects. She took part in the translation and logistics behind a one-million word project. She has been the Language Centre Manager since 2002.
The Language Centre consists of two teams: a corporate team and a Government team, both made up of Project Managers from different nationalities. Each team is coordinated by a Team Leader. The teams are very closely knit and work very hard to provide professional services to our clients.
We also employ a Vendor Manager who is responsible for the recruitment of all our freelancers and is a key role in the activities of the Language Centre.
Caroline’s role is to train the project managers and assist them in the running of their projects. She is responsible for the quality output of the projects and ensures that her team complies with the quality processes in place through our ISO certification.
She keeps up to date with the different technology advances, in particular the different translation memory systems available. She works closely with our Studio and our Sales team to provide our clients with the best possible solutions. For example, she recently worked on a multilingual project involving the translation of FrameMaker 8 files into 4 languages, with SDL Trados technology.
Caroline is a member of the SMT team.
