K International has been awarded a 4 year contract to provide secure medical translation services to the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The contract will begin on the 1st April 2009 and will run for a period of 4 years. It will involve K International providing written language translations of more than 35,000 documents into and from all official languages of the EU.

The translations will be provided to the British Forces Germany Health Service (BFG HS). They are responsible for providing healthcare to the British Forces population and their dependants living in Germany, which currently numbers around 50,000. British Forces Germany (BFG) patients receive Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare as inpatients and outpatients in a number of different hospitals across Germany.

The award of the contract is a clear indication of the acknowledgement of K International’s ongoing support provided to the UK Public Sector. Building upon the contracts already in place for the Home Office, Prison Service and National Health Service, this deal will help to save the MoD money and introduce innovation into the process.
