Setting up the Service

All you have to do is call one number.

  1. Call our team on 01908 557900 (+44 1908 557900 if outside the UK).
  2. We will ask you a few questions, take some details and assign you with a unique telephone number and ID.
  3. You’ll then be able to use the service whenever you need. Full training and support materials are available (generic versions can be found on this webpage).

We have teams of interpreting staff specially trained to deal with the general public in situations such as healthcare, security and emergencies.

We are able to pre-arrange specific interpreting assignments to cover more in-depth healthcare issues. For these assignments, sex, subject knowledge and even experience of the interpreter can be chosen.

We also have a selection of interpreters who are CTC cleared and work within the boundaries of the Official Secrets Act (1989), if you require one of these please let us know before the assignment begins and we will be able to make provision for it.

Other types of Interpreting

Other types of interpreting can be supplied for different situations. These are explained (in brief) below.

Face-to-Face Interpreting is sometimes called liaison or ad-hoc interpreting. It is a two way form of interpreting – meaning that all parties present can take part in a discussion.

Simultaneous Interpreting is referred to as whispering interpreting. Simultaneous interpreting is useful for larger events where only a few participants require translation.

Conference Interpreting is used at large events such as conferences where there are more than a few participants who require translation.

Sign Language Interpreters can be provided to assist people with hearing difficulties, whenever necessary.
