Technical translation projects at K International are completed by specialist teams of technical translators. We understand the process of generating technical publications and have the capability to translate your technical documents into any language in use today.

All of our translators only ever work into their mother tongue, all are qualified (to master’s degree level) in translation and all are suitability qualified in the subject area in which they translate into. In the case of technical translation this can often include an engineering degree in the subject.

We use dedicated teams of multilingual project managers to manage each project. These teams control all aspects of the project, including, pre-engineering of the text, the technical translation, proofreading, artwork and post artwork checks. Translation Memory

K International uses translation memory software throughout the translation workflow process. Translation memory ‘remembers’ all of the technical terms and the corresponding translation. This provides our clients with the following benefits.

reduces costs, which are past onto our clients.
improves consistency, by remembering what has been translated and validated before, and,
saves time, our system links in with your document creation process, working directly in to XML, SGML, Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word and all other formats saves a lot of time when it comes to formatting.

K International can work with all translation memory standards. This means that your existing memories can be quickly imported into our system and used immediately. We can even import previously translated material into our systems creating glossaries for future projects.

Experience

We provide a technical translation service to the following companies.

SMC. SMC is the world’s largest manufacturer of pneumatic automation products. K International provide a technical translation and DTP service to produce their user guides in, Italian, German, Spanish, French and Japanese. All artwork is produced in QuarkXpress and returned to the client as print ready PDFs.

Huntleigh Healthcare. Huntleigh Healthcare designs and manufactures an extensive range of non-invasive healthcare products and instrumentation for medical applications. K International provide Huntleigh with a complete localisation solution for the entire range of their products. This includes the translation of, technical manuals, user guides, brochures, point of sale material, marketing support material and other marketing collateral. We also offer translation memory management and in-country validation management service helping this client to retain a consistent voice across all regions.

EADS Astrium. EADS Astrium provides civil and defence space systems and services. K International provide a technical translation service. Translating their contracts, tenders, bids, specifications and other technical documents. The translation is produced in the majority of the European languages.

Veeder-Root. Veeder-Root are a supplier of fuelling system technologies to the oil and transport industry. K International supplies technical translation specific to the energy industry to allow this company to distribute its products worldwide. All user guides are produced in a controlled environment using a bespoke version of Adobe FrameMaker. K International links into this workflow (via XML), produces translations and manages the in-country distribution network.

Pace Europe Ltd. Pace develops solutions for the assembly, repair and rework of advanced electronics. K International produce translations of their user guides and other technical publications in French, German, Spanish and Italian. All work is produced in QuarkXpress and Adobe Illustrator and supplied back to the client in the native file format and print ready pdfs.
