K International provide a multilingual transcription service. You can send us a recording of a voice in any language and we will transcribe and translate it into English, returning to you an MS Word file.

We are able to accept recordings in almost any format, including, cassette, CD, DVD, MP3, Wav or BT’s PIN phone system. In addition to this we have developed our own solution that can provide transcriptions within 48 hours of recording, this is used extensively within the Prison Service.

Our team of transcribers and translators are all fully qualified professionals, working only ever into their native tongue.

This service is currently used primarily in the Legal and Government sectors of our business. An example is detailed below of how it is used in the Prison Service at the moment.

If you are part of the UK Government then you can order this service under 05/GEN/25 the pan Government agreement for translation and communication services. This agreement is backed by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and has been designed to use the enormous buying power of the Government to lower costs and improve service. Make sure you quote 05/GEN/25 at time of ordering.

Transcription Case Study

K International has worked closely with the HM Prison Service for a number of years providing the transcription and translation of various recordings, supplying back an MS Word file in English.

When this service first began we would receive (via courier) cassette tapes with the foreign language recordings on. These were then transcribed using our team of security cleared translators and translated back into English. We then returned (via encrypted email) the MS Word file containing the English transcription of the recording and

In some cases we securely destroyed all copies of the cassettes, printed material and electronic files associated with the project. This was carried out on request.

More recently we have developed a system that allows a much faster turnaround time. This involves a combination of our VOIP phone system and the same technology that is behind podcasts. This allows a mush faster turnaround and the recordings can be 'played' directly into our system, we transcribe them and return the MS Word file via encrypted email or our portal.

Using this new system means that we can begin transcribing and translating the recording immediately after it has been recording (saving time and money on the courier). This is very important in a lot of cases as the prison may need to act as quickly as possible on the information gained within the recording.
