Renowned medical translation expertise relied on by the British Army and the NHS.

If you are engaged in healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors you can rely on K International’s medical translation service to deliver the highest quality results. Relied on by commercial outfits and government departments including the British Army.

Medical information can often contain a myriad of complex terminology, ensuring this is accurately conveyed in translation is vital. There are few other disciplines within translation that can have such a significant bearing on human life. For this reason choosing a proven, respected, experienced professional language provider is an absolute must.

We have been working with clients in the medical field for in excess of two decades, our experience ranges from handling the medical records of overseas troops for the British Army to the technical translation of complex medical equipment manuals. Due to the sensitive nature of much of our medical work our security procedures and commitment to confidentiality are at the forefront of the language industry.

Our specialist teams of linguists and project managers are hand-picked for their experience, aptitude and qualifications. All medical document translations are carried out by individuals with a background in relevant industries to that of individual projects, this ensures all terminology is accurate and focused specifically for the target region.

If the project is exceptionally sensitive we are able to call on government sanctioned security cleared linguists to meet your demands.

The short summaries below give you an idea of the type of work we carry out on a daily basis

British Army

The work which K International does for the MOD entails translating medical records with the addition of occasional admin/health & safety/legal documentation.  The work is not restricted to just those actually serving in the military, as their families are also covered.  This means that our translators need to be able to deal with subjects as distinct as injuries sustained on the battlefield, ligaments torn playing football, children suffering from simple earache or more serious childhood illnesses, gynaecological problems, pregnancy difficulties, all fields of oncology and their related treatments, psychiatric issues including PTSD and many more.  In other words, if it can be classified as medical, our translators are able to handle it.  The languages we regularly cover are: German (the main language), French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian and Turkish, but we can be asked to translate from any language at all.  Occasionally we are asked to translate into German, French or Dutch from English.

Since the inception of the pan-Government agreement for translation services in 2006 K International have been preferred suppliers on a pan-NHS agreement to provide NHS translation & artwork services. The majority of the work undertaken for the Department of Health is in the following languages; French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Vietnamese, Turkish, Greek, Chinese, Punjabi, Urdu and Guajarati. Every day we translate numerous medical records, patient records, medical information leaflets and provide interpreters for face to face meetings within this organisation. We also provide advice to the NHS on when and what to translate, making sure that they save as much money on the document creation process as possible and maximise patient care.

Services provided include; Technical Medical Translation, Proofreading and Validator/Validation management to produce technical documentation and software for the European market. Based in Munich and with offices all over the world BrainLAB is an award-winning innovator in image-guided surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. Using our workflow software we were able to translate directly into their systems. All translated documents were tested in market by qualified surgeons before release to the customer. This service was completed in French, German, Spanish and Italian for the relevant European markets.

Cancer Screening

Assisting with the national campaign by handling the translation and production of medical information for the domestic market. This involved translating documentation, websites and support material into Chinese, Punjabi, Urdu and Guajarati. Our translations are directly assisting the NHS Cancer Screening Programme to save lives by ensuring the message cuts through language barriers to  raise awareness throughout the UK.

ArjoHuntleigh offer a broad range of integrated medical equipment solutions for patient care, reduced mobility and related conditions, with the aim to enhance efficiency and quality of life. We help them to provide their products in countries outside of the UK by designing, translating, proofreading and validating their support material for various medical products they sell. At present this service covers the following languages; Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and French. We keep costs low and quality high by managing terminology lists and translation memories centrally, these are then integrated into the content creation process to re-use as much translated (and source) material as possible.

Every project we undertake for ArjoHuntleigh employs a specialist translator and reviewer with a medical background. This allows us to guarantee the terminology and language used is compliant with localised regions and adheres to laws surrounding product information. Alongside this we work with ArjoHuntleigh’s internal validators (staff intrinsically involved in the products manufacture or use), we manage this process centrally to keep all databases and terminology lists up-to date and fit for purpose.

I work for an international company that produces games and toys for children of various ranges: Scientific, creative, electronic and educational.

We have been cooperating with K International for almost two years and we found their work exceptional considering that we assigned them translations over different fields within the wide world of Toys. They’ve always been very receptive and ready to take on our requirements. They have always respected our needs and our deadlines, providing a very effective and trustworthy service. As far as I’m concerned professionalism and competence are the most important qualities for those who manage translation and they have both in abundance.
